Our pro-grade leather colourant is similar to the coatings applied to your pigmented (painted/coated) leather in the tannery. Easy to use, fast-drying and durable, it delivers a professional showroom finish. Choose from over 80 mixable colours including colours exclusive to Leather Hero. With industry-beating rub-resistance, this self-sealing colourant won't rub off onto your clothes.
When accidents happen or wear and tear takes its toll, recoating worn leather finishes can dramatically revamp the look of abraided, scuffed and blemished leather. From handbags to sofas and apparel to car seats and steering wheels, this product lets you keep your leather looking good throughout the years.
With several thin coats, full coverage can be achieved. This means that if you are ready for a colour change, it's doable. With so many colours to choose from, there's also no limit to the creative leather and vinyl craft projects you can explore.
Application is easy; sponge on by hand or use a spray gun. It is water-based and non-toxic. Made and owned in Australia, Colour (No.6) is part of our repair and recolour system. It is recommended for use in conjunction with the suggested surface prep, primer and topcoat for optimal results.

Put back what the years have taken away
Wear and tear happens over time. Recoat the worn areas or the whole piece using the same system the professionals use and achieve beautiful results.
For a pro finish and optimal durability, use this Leather Paint after thorough surface prep with Spot & Prep (No.4) and Prime (No.5). Once dry, seal and protect it with clear Topcoat (No.7).
Before & Afters
The filler sort of worked, but hard to sand down without damaging the surrounding leather. And when applying the colour (have had to colour the whole sofa as it’s much darker), keep getting pale patches even after 3 coats.

It is best to apply filler thinly and precisely so that only minimal sanding is required. In some cases, an electric palm sander can be used with caution to deal with excess filler. The suitability of this approach depends on the size of the repair area, of course. It is normal for sanding to impact the surrounding areas. Once the repair is completed, all affected areas can be refinished (recoloured). We encourage you to head to the FAQs and Videos to learn more about using Leather Filler.
Three coats of colour will not provide full coverage. Per the Directions for Use, multiple thin coats are needed to achieve full coverage.
To complete your job, consider sanding any unwanted filler until you are happy with the texture of the repair area. Then refinish; prime, colour and topcoat. When it comes to colour, continue to apply further coats until the filled area are no longer visible. This may occur after 5-7 layers. A stippling technique can be helpful as it lays down more colour than wiping. With the use of a hair dryer to speed drying, these final steps may only take an hour or so.

Hi Ashutosh, Thank you for sharing your feedback. Leather Paint is thin so that it delivers colour and a refined finish (without looking like house paint). Coverage is built with multiple thin coats. If there is an adhesion problem, there's a reason for it. There could be waxes, silicones, soiling, oils or other contaminants preventing adhesion. Or the leather may be man-made. It's also vital that the leather is prepped thoroughly before applying coatings.
