Cleanse (No.1)

Leather Hero brings you professional-grade products you can trust and it all starts with Cleanse (No.1). A pro-grade pH-neutral leather cleaner for use on pigmented leather (painted/coated) cars, furniture, upholstery, and other pigmented leather goods.

  • Removes dirt and grime
  • Anti-bacterial
  • Fast drying, pleasant smelling, non-sudsing, and easy to use
  • Maintenance strength pH neutral cleaner. Use every 3 months or as needed
  • Ideal for immediate cleaning of fresh spills (never rub)
  • Formulated for pigmented (painted/coated) leathers
  • Save $$$ when you DIY with the products the professionals use

Perfectly calibrated for maintenance cleaning

This cleaner helps to remove dirt, grime, perspiration and body oils from the surface of your leather. It won't make your leather greasy, smelly or dry - just clean. Strong enough to get the job done yet gentle enough to use on a wide range of coated fashion, auto, and furniture leathers.

Anti-bacterial

Contains a powerful antibacterial that is proven to kill:

  • Escherichia coli (E coli)
  • Proteus vulgaris
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA or Golden Staph)

Spray, scrub and wipe

Apply by spray or pour onto a just damp white microfibre cloth. A brush can help to agitate dirt from the grain of your leather. For fine leathers, use a gentle approach with a soft bristle brush. For furniture and car leather, a medium bristle brush can usually be used. Avoid firm rubbing with a cloth as this can remove coatings.

3 monthly schedule

When it comes to leather care, a 'light and regular' approach is key. Use every 3 months or as needed to keep your leather free of deeply ingrained soiling that can eventually stain and damage leather coatings. Regular cleaning helps to prevent heavy grime build-up, and removes invisible contaminants such as perspiration and oils with less effort and better results than a once a year spring clean.

When accidents happen

Often, the difference between a mark and a stain is time. When spills and other marks have time to set in, they can become indelible; permanent. Having a pro-grade leather cleaner on hand to treat accidents when they happen can minimize the risk of nasty stains.

Give yourself the gift of leather that looks amazing and lasts longer with Cleanse (No.1).

This cleaner is a maintenance strength cleaner for pigmented(painted/coated) leather, waxed, oil-pull-up and synthetic leather.

The amount of product required depends on the type and condition of your leather as well as the amount of soiling and time since the last clean.

50ml: Small marks, 1 x steering wheel or 1 x handbag

125ml: 1-2 x car seats or 2-3 x standard sofa seats

250ml: 1 x 2 seater or 1-2 x recliners or 2 or more armchairs or multiple light cleans of several furniture pieces.

500ml: 1 x 3 seater sofa, lots of light cleans

1L: Multiple large treatments

2L: Multiple large treatments

Coverage estimates are broad as individual users have leather
that is in different condition and use products on different care schedules. The newer the leather and the more frequently it is serviced, the less product required per service. The older the leather, the less frequently it has been
treated in the past and with an infrequent care schedule going forward, the amount of product needed for each service will be greater. We recommend light and regular care. For some users this will be once every week or two. For others, it will be once every 3 months. In most cases, leather care that is
stretched beyond a 3 monthly schedule requires more effort and can consume more product.  Another factor is usage. Some users choose to apply more product per service than others.

3) Wipe with a dry cloth.

For leather that is heavily soiled:

Ideal for: cleaning pigmented (painted/coated) leather as well as waxed, oil Pull-up and synthetic leather.

Use with: Nourish (No.2) and Protect (No.3)

Application schedule: Use every 3 months or as needed. Can be used more frequently on leather in high traffic environments.

Application method: By cloth or spray.

Best accessories: White microfibre cloths and scrubbing brush

Instructions: On the labels, Directions for Use tab, Tips and under the How To tab in main menu

Tips:

Regualr use produces best results

Troubleshooting:

After years of use, leather coatings can wear thin, become compromised by body oils and perspiration and some may have been exposed to unsuitable cleaning chemicals resulting in damage to the leather and/or coatings.

If normal cleaning results in coatings disturbance, it is a sign that the original topcoat may be expired and needs to be replaced.

See our leather repair products and How To guides to find suitable solutions for the job

Test before use: Always test products in an inconspicuous area first. There are many makers of leather and leather coatings and whilst most are to standard, there may be some that are not

Storage: Lid on tight and away from direct UV light and heat (in a cool dark cupboard). Avoid contaminating the contents with baterial sources including skin

Soiled | Clean

Maintenance is key

Leather is robust and durable, capable of lasting for many years. Like everything we touch and use regularly, it becomes soiled with grime from our skin, clothing and the atmosphere.

There are 2 main objectives when cleaning leather:

1) to improve the hygiene, look and feel

2) to remove that damaging grime and thereby extend the usable life of the leather

One is about aesthetics, the other is about preventing drying, cracking, delamination and tears.

Could your pigmented sofa use a good clean?

Car care starts here

Leathers that have opaque surface coatings are known as 'pigmented'. With few exceptions, car leathers are the pigmented type.

Cleanse (No.1) is calabrated for routine maintenance cleaning. Used regularly and in conjunction with Nourish (No.2) and Protect (No.3) it gives your leather the care it needs to keep its good looks and last for years.

If your leather is pigmented (painted/coated) this is the best cleaner for it whether its car seats, furniture, jacket, or apparel.

That's not paint on the seat. It's the original colour exposed by cleaning
